Congratulations Sue!

Jennifer Choo Sue Chin (or Sue) found a new avenue for dancing when she was introduced to line dancing in 2004. Her initial curiosity soon blossomed into an all-consuming addiction when she discovered that line dancing fulfilled her childhood passion for dancing, provided her a means to keep fit as well as an opportunity to socialise with like-minded enthusiasts and travel to different places.

In 2006, Sue choreographed Fairy Tale. To her delight, Fairy Tale was picked up by a good number of dancers. This motivated Sue to choreograph more dances. To date, Sue has choreographed 16 dances which were danced worldwide; the better known ones include Hare Ram, Cha Cha Conchita, Love Love Me Do and Innuendo. In 2007, Sue took her new passion in life one step further when she started classes of her own. Later she started teaching her line dance choreographies at dance events. Sue is also a favourite guest artiste at various events where she was invited to showcase her talent as a performer. In 2009, Sue’s contribution to the line dance community was recognised worldwide when she was featured in the February edition of the Line Dancer Magazine.

Sue presently resides in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, where she works as a Senior Academic Manager in an e-learning company. She earned her Masters in Educational Technology in 2004.

Although we have known Sue for quite some time through her great choreography of Love Love Me Do, we started to interact via Facebook only recently. We are of course so proud of her being chosen as one of the Guest Instructors at the WOW Line Dance Spectacular 2010. The event is going to be held in Shanghai, China on September 3 to 5.

Go, Go Sue... Go!

Since we just opened in February, mainly to introduce Line Dancing to the Kuala Kangsar folks, so most of the classes are meant for Ultra Beginner/Beginner level; except for Monday and Tuesday evening, it's for High Beginner level. While on this Friday evening, we are planning to start to teach Intermediate/Advanced level Line Dance.

Beginning Line Dancing - Join others and learn fun, easy line dances or just come for the great exercise. This class is for everyone of all ages and abilities. No experience required.

Intermediate Line Dancing - This class is for all of you experienced line dancers looking to challenge yourselves. Learn more intricate dances with lots more turns and more to memorize with Tags and Re-starts. Prerequisite: Beginning Line Dance or equivalent.

Advanced Line Dancing - This class is for the very experienced line dancers. Learn new, more intricate dances with Tags, Bridges, Choruses, Re-starts and Phrases (A, B, C) parts.

*NOTE ON PREREQUISITES:
  • All Intermediate/Advanced level dance classes require completion of and competence with Beginning level dance classes' material. Repeating dance classes to obtain confidence is encouraged.
  • Dance Partners are not required. Pre-registering for a class will help us make sure the classes are balanced with Leads and Follows.
  • Of course our Line Dancers never need partners! That's just one of the benefits of learning to line dance.

Line Dancing Classes

Line Dancing Class Description & Info

Join and learn some fun Line Dances or just come for the great exercise. Our Line Dance classes are not just "Country Line Dances". We just call it "Line Dancing" for a reason. We play Great Music of all the Genres like Ballroom, Country, Top 40, Hip Hop, Blues, Funky, Latin, Irish, Swing and probably more. You never need a partner but you can bring all your friends and have a lot of fun and good exercise without knowing it.

A study at the Albert Einstein Medical Center in the Bronx, N.Y., found dancing to be the only regular physical activity associated with a significant drop in the incidence of dementia, including Alzheimer's disease. Other studies have shown Line Dancing in particular to be a great help in areas of memory, balance, cardiovascular and vertigo. And at the same time you get to have lots of fun!

Everyone learns at a different pace so we recommend you start with the Introductory and Beginner levels for a while. You can stay and watch the Intermediate/Advanced dancers. After you have taken the Beginner level classes and feel ready you can join the experienced class for more of a challenge.

Ways we classify the Line Dances:
  • 1 Wall, 2 Wall or 4 Wall dances
  • 32 Count, 48 Count, 64 Count etc.
  • Level (Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced)
  • Phrased Dances (Tags, Restarts, Bridges, A,B,C)
  • Rhythm (Waltz, Mambo, etc.)
